Davis, Yolo County
Davis painted the first official bike lanes in the United States in 1967 and has built its streets around bicycles ever since. Paths run under and over the main roads, a high-wheel bicycle appears on the city logo, and the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame is downtown. On a typical school day thousands of students ride across town to campus.
